Ever wondered why there are so many essential oil brands out there and why they all smell different and seem to produce different results??
I mean... is it possible some companies are lying to us??
Here's some information for you directly from the government sites so you can see how convoluted the information is for us all.
NOTE:
--Because it all comes down to "intent"... it's up to interpretation and choice of the business owner.
--FDA regulation is voluntary. (no one has to comply)
--GRAS items would include peppermint, lavender, etc just like foods.
--A drop of any EO from plants that were grown by the side of a busy highway in suboptimal climate would obviously be different in effectiveness and purity than a drop of the same EO grown in the optimal clean climate. But this is not addressed at all.
Also Note - doTERRA teaches a ton of science but instructs us that when we speak publicly to not make drug claims.
A drug is defined by U.S. law as any substance (other than a food or device) intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, relief, treatment, or prevention of disease or intended to affect the structure or function of the body.
Say this - don't say this guide:
Why Sourcing and Testing Make Allllll the Difference
Read this:
Pure essential oils are pristine aromatic molecules that simply give us the natural results of their benefits - and that always return our cells to homeostasis.
Any time you are confused about whether or not using oils is going to cause you to have high blood pressure, if they are going to cause you to go into labor or your milk supply to decrease, whether they kill good gut bacteria, if it is safe to use them daily or long-term, or whether they can be used while taking medicines or chemo, just remember this fact and then think about the question again. A body in homeostasis is capable of receiving and processing information, which makes it capable of operating AS IT NATURALLY SHOULD. That is ALWAYS a good thing.
